This was the original FJ convertible handmade for Toyota to show at the 2008 SEMA (Speciality Equipment Market Association) in Las Vegas for Toyota Dealers. The dealers wanted a convertible to compete with Jeep but Toyota decided not to offer a convertible as an option to the dealers. This FJ has EVERY option on it that was available for the 2008 model year: Trail Teams Special Edition that included: TRD Black/Gun Metal alloy wheels TRD cat-back exhaust system TRD bilstein offroad tuned shocks Rock Rails BFGoodrich all-terrain tires TRD Badging inside and out TRD Rubber floor mats Also included: Daytime Driving Lights Garmin GPS (dash mounted) Offroad package: Dash mounted: Compass, Outside Temperature and Inclinometer Factory Skid Plates Billett Aluminum Interior Accents Front mounted Toyota Driving Lights FJammer Satellite Radio with subwoofer Leather Wrapped steering wheel with mounted radio controls The conversion was done by NCE in Newport California--the Premier Conversion Factory in the WORLD !! Original cost with engineering was $28,000 for the conversion !! The exterior top material is the strongest available and is padded and lined with German Alcantara Leather. The rear window is glass with built in defroster. The top operates with one button custom built into the dash and has two Toyota latches to lock it down. Padded roll cage is also custom made and passes all national safety regulations. No wind noise or leaks. This vehicle was owned by a collector in California and had service done by the Toyota dealer EVERY FIVE thousand miles !!!!! At the 90k service the clutch was also replaced at the dealer. No paint or body work (verified by CarFax report). The top was replaced at 97k for $8,000.
